Mining on a MacOS

Hi,

I try to start mining om my MacPro, but have some problems.
At first it takes some days that it synchronise it and I was needed twice to restart the application, while it was still - nothing has been done there only has a message:

Last scheduled hard fork time shows a daemon update is needed now

I have the latest downloaded 2.1.1.1 for MacOS from the electroneum site.
After the restart the synchronisation was finished but still have there this error and the ming will not start.

When I tried to do a update check i receive this message:

I don’t know where is the problem, but I thing can it be in the opened ports on my router?

Hi @Alfista. Welcome to the forum.

What is your reason to want to mine ETN on your mac?? The coin is designed to be mined by ASICs that are specifically designed to maximise the likelihood of getting a block. A mac wont have the hashing power to be very successful at this.

Mining at home will help you learn about blockchains though.

Hi,
Thank. I have running it on my phone too, but I have my Mac running as a server and it has too many free time so I will that it is doing something more and will that it helps too.
I’m new in it and will learn it and find where by the configuration I have done the mistakes and will that it work.

I cross-mine on iMac with xmr-stak i.e. not direct mining on the etn blockchain. it gives 10-30 etn/day.

In preparation to the weekend outages on the wallets and exchanges, thorshammer will be halting ETN payouts until Monday. The hash will continue to accumulate SUMO coins over the weekend and exchange them for ETN for payouts on Monday.

the update CLI commands are not implemented (afaik)

Regarding ports open or not, does electroneumd (update/download) a local copy of the blockchain? (command status to check your current height)

PS: mining ETN on your mac is not recommended anymore, but you can “cross-mine” another crypto on ThorsHammer and get paid in ETN

You mean that I need to compile the latest code for MacOS, while now I have there 2.1.1.1 and I have seen that is 2.1.1.2.

And can’t be there also a problem with opened ports?

that are a cloud mining or is it possible to install it on my Mac and mine there using its HW?
How its work? Where is possible to download the app for it?

the second link works for me. it’s a link to a telegram group. the pool owner is there to give more info how to connect to the pool. the pool mines altcoins but pays you in etn. you should have a good CPU/GPU to have good results.

I use xmr-stak to mine. download the source from here and extract it:

compile it according to the instructions here:

start the miner and give parameters (mining algo, pool address, your etn wallet address)
