CLI Wallet Remote Nodes Still Working?

Am I doing something wrong here with remote node?
I cant connect to:

52.138.176.219:8081

Thanks

Hi @user2721 welcome to the forum! :slightly_smiling_face:

This is really an interesting question.

A lot has changed with the blockchain.

You should still be able to run a node.

And use the remote node function.

Not sure if this needs an update?

Maybe @chris_ETN
or @Plankton_ETN
Can answer…

Thanks for the response 3babf70bcfdf24cd84b7,

Good to know the CLI still works after the fork to the new mining system.

I am trying to use the CLI wallet without syncing to the blockchain from scratch, so I need to run a remote node, according to the instructions, I believe.
.
Those are the instructions I have been using. Great instructions, but I keep getting an error.

“Error: wallet failed to connect to daemon: 52.138.176.219:8081. Daemon either is
not started or wrong port was passed. Please make sure daemon is running or cha
nge the daemon address using the ‘set_daemon’ command.

[wallet etnk3Y (no daemon)]:”

I would be grateful for any help I can find with this

if you are in EU try

Hi, that’s my remote node - I’ve just woken up and will check it in the next few minutes and report back…

It had thrown an error and is back sync’ing again now. Couple of minutes and should be up to date again.

Thanks for letting me know.

Hi @BegaMutex, the links on the github page to the nodes don’t work. Would you mind forwarding on to Andre?
