Yup. Any type of transaction on the new smart chain will be fully confirmed after 1 block…so ~5 seconds (plus any delays checking the confirmation etc of course). The electroneum wallet wont need to use private/view key processes to check balances… it will all be public so balances will be easily & quickly refreshed in the wallet.
For transactions done between two users of the Electroneum wallet (mobile/web centralised wallet)… when you send the coins they will likely still get ringfenced or frozen in your wallet instantly rather than waiting for the blockchain.
Why still have this if it only takes 5 seconds on the blockchain you may ask? Well if a shop is using the Electroneum wallet/API to do transactions, they need to know the funds are frozen instantly so they can continue the transaction and give the user the product or service. Even 5 seconds is possibly too long hence that service will likely stay to make it SUPER easy for commercial entities to accept ETNSC.
An excellent change to the ETN network. Not just from a commercial setting, but also for depositing on exchanges… will be nice for traders to move coins quickly etc.

Since the competition it seems like the ETN trade has shifted to Huobi now. I can see Kucoin trade volume is ridiculously low now.

We all are haha - all they said was upgrade coming sometime later in the year - its pretty vague. It is what it is. The market is so dead in general anyway. Trade volume is up with the new trading pair on Huobi so that is good. The global economy is about to collapse haha - life grinds on…

Do not get me wrong. One of the things that needs to be done right now is what EVM and Smartchain will bring to Electroneum. Social media mod should constantly share about it on Electroneum twitter channel.
